A tasty, healthy, and quick Mexican dish. There are many versions of chili, but this one with ground beef is probably the most popular. This version is mild for children, but it tastes much better spicy.

Ingredients
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, pressed
- 1 heaping teaspoon chili powder (or 1 tbsp mild paprika)
- 1 tsp cumin
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 beef bouillon cube dissolved in 300 ml boiling water
- 400 g canned chopped tomatoes
- ½ tsp marjoram
- 2 tsp sugar
- 410 g canned red beans
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Sour cream, optional, for serving
- Oil for frying
Preparation
Sauté the onion in a little oil until soft. Add garlic, fresh pepper, chili powder, and cumin. Fry for about 3 minutes.
Increase the heat and add the ground beef. Cook until the meat is fully browned.
Add the prepared bouillon, canned tomatoes, marjoram, and sugar. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Drain and rinse the beans, then add them to the sauce. Simmer for a few more minutes.
Adjust seasoning, remove the lid, and let the dish rest for 10 minutes. Serve with rice and a dollop of sour cream if desired.
